Street Charity held a press conference on the steps of the Marriott Marquis in downtown Atlanta during the Quick Serve Restaurant show, where leaders from every fast food and quick serve restaurant were assembled. The press conference featured Atlanta City Councilman Michael Julian Bond and the Fulton County Board of Commissioners Chairman, Robb Pitts. Both men are long-time champions of fighting hunger in Atlanta. Robb Pitts said that Street Charity was a ‘god-send’ and noted that people could use the cards to serve the homeless and the hungry who are down on their luck and need a hand up. Michael Julian Bond feeds the homeless every week in Atlanta and said that these cards could be used by everyone who often feels helpless to help.
Comments were also made by the CEO of the Georgia Restaurant Association and Feeding Georgia, underscoring the transformative power of a single meal. The show’s organizer, WTWH Media, also provided comments from their Vice President of Marketing, Annie Wissner.
